Classical Osteopathy in Calgary NW – Arbour Lake

Gentle, hands-on treatment to restore balance and relieve pain.

At Peak Alignment Osteopathy, located in Calgary NW, treatment goes beyond aligning your structure. Serving the Arbour Lake community, the focus is on understanding why your body is in its current state. Your initial visit includes a comprehensive evaluation with both passive and active motion testing, followed by gentle, precise treatment. Ongoing care builds on these findings, continuing to address areas of imbalance and support your body’s natural ability to return to a more balanced state.

Osteopathy is grounded in the principles described by the founder, Andrew Taylor Still, recognizing the body as an interconnected whole with an inherent capacity for health when well supported. Treatment looks beyond posture to consider the relationships between joints, tissues, fluids, and mechanics. By addressing patterns throughout the body, care aims to restore balance, ease, and coordination, allowing the body to function at its best.

Osteopathic treatment is a thoughtful, hands-on approach rooted in classical osteopathic principles. Rather than focusing on isolated symptoms, care considers the body as a dynamic unit of function, where structure and function are closely related.

About Jeni

I have been passionate about natural and alternative approaches to health from a young age. Growing up active in sports, I began experiencing unexplained knee pain at eight years old that followed me through daily activities and eventually affected other areas of my body. Despite consultations with a variety of health practitioners, nothing fully resolved my condition. It wasn’t until I began receiving consistent osteopathic care that I started to experience what “normal” felt like again, with pain-free days becoming more frequent. Even my chronic migraines significantly decreased. This experience deepened my curiosity about the body, movement, and health.

What ultimately drew me to osteopathy was its whole-body approach and gentle, hands-on treatment style, which aligned with how I had come to understand healing and the importance of addressing the root cause.

I hold a diploma in Health, Wellness, and Fitness from Mohawk College, as well as a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Women and Gender Studies and a Minor in Development Studies from St. Francis Xavier University (St. FX).

After completing my studies at St. FX, I spent time exploring Western Canada, where I was first introduced to osteopathy and received treatment in British Columbia. This experience provided me with a new perspective and a deeper understanding of the human body.

I went on to complete the four-year, principle-based program at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, earning a Master’s in the Practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (M.OMSc).

I have treated over 100 patients both within and outside the student clinic in Hamilton, Ontario. At Peak Alignment Osteopathy in Calgary NW, my goal is to help you uncover the root cause of your concerns and support your body in restoring balance and function.

Outside of practice, you’ll likely find me hiking or skiing in the mountains, spending time with friends and furry companions, or enjoying Ontario’s lakes with my family.

I look forward to meeting you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Coverage depends on your individual plan. It is recommended to check directly with your provider. If you’re unsure, check in with your service provider before treatment.

Osteopathic manual care can support a wide range of concerns, including back, neck, hip, knee, and shoulder pain, sciatica, headaches and migraines, sports injuries, whiplash, sprains and strains, arthritis-related pain, tendonitis, myofascial pain, and postural imbalances. It may also help with certain functional concerns such as digestive issues (including IBS), infant colic, sleep disturbances, and chronic fatigue.

Please note that I do not provide medical diagnoses. If medical clearance is required, it will be requested before treatment.

The goal of treatment is to support the body’s return to health by optimizing structure so it can function and self-regulate as efficiently as possible.

This depends on your individual presentation and goals. Some people notice changes quickly, while others benefit from a series of treatments over time. Your first session will always begin with a detailed intake to review your goals and assess what your body needs, followed by an initial general treatment to see how your body responds to osteopathic care.

Treatment is typically gentle and non-invasive, working with the body rather than against it. Some holds and positions may be noticeable, but should not be painful. In some cases, you may feel mild soreness after treatment, similar to post-exercise soreness. This is a normal response as the body adapts and integrates changes following care.

Please wear comfortable, full-coverage clothing to allow for ease of movement and assessment. Bring a pair of socks for your appointment. If you have long hair, please bring an elastic to keep it tied back during your session.

Classical osteopathy is not time-based, but guided by what each patient needs in the session. Most appointments typically last 20 to 30 minutes.

No, a referral is not required for osteopathic manual therapy. You are welcome to book directly. In some cases, I may request medical clearance from your physician before proceeding with treatment.
